A non-profit connects people with severe food allergies to trainers who teach dogs to sniff out food allergens, according to a story in USA today.

The non-profit, named Angel Service Dogs, is based in Monument, Colorado. The organization focuses on providing dogs for children with peanut and tree nut allergies, although dogs can be trained to stiff out other.

The service was founded by Brett and Sherry Mers, whose daughter Riley was diagnosed with a life threatening peanut allergy at 5 months old.
